Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is a targeted support mechanism to address disparities in educational achievement and ensure equitable access to learning for all children. This initiative acknowledges that children from disadvantaged backgrounds often face additional challenges that can hinder their academic progress. By providing additional funding to schools based on the number of pupils eligible for free school meals, looked-after children, and those with parents in the armed forces, the Pupil Premium aims to bridge the gap in educational attainment and create a level playing field for all children.

One of the key objectives of the Pupil Premium is to raise standards and develop optimal outcomes across the entire school, rather than serving as a personal budget for individual children. The funding is strategically allocated to initiatives and programs that have been proven effective in improving educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. This includes targeted interventions such as additional academic support, and enrichment activities designed to enhance the overall educational experience.

The funding allows us to support families with additional costs associated with the education of their children. wraparound care, educational trips linked to the curriculum and sporting events are subsidised each year.
